Counseling Services

DISTRICT COUNSELING SERVICES OFFERED:
1. Individual Counseling: Typically 1x per week for 6 weeks to assist student in removing barriers to academic achievement and social-emotional development to recognize and respond to student mental health needs.
2. Group Counseling: Structured group counseling, typically 1x per week, during lunch, for 4-6 weeks that meets the students' collective and individual needs by promoting social-emotional, academic, behavioral or career development.
3. Drop-In Individual Counseling: Anytime student is in needor referred to school counselor.
4. LunchBunches: Informal, group counseling 1x per week, during lunch, typically runs for 4-6 weeks or on an as-needed basis to provide a level of intervention for students who may need extra support, attention and/or education to achieve a specific social-emotional, academic or behavioral goal.
5. Individual Academic Planning/Advisement: As needed basis to assist students in goal-setting and taking action steps based on academic, interests abilities and skills data with the idea of academic achievement and advancement in mind.
6. Assessment Appraisal: As needed basis to help students and parents/guardians evaluate standardized/benchmark assessment results.
7. Crisis Counseling: As needed basis to provide support to students and families as they navigate crisis and emergency situations that are disrupting the students' school life.
8. Morning Meet-Ups: As needed basis, referred by administration and/or educators, for students to have a daily morning meet-up with school counselor, from 7:50-8:00 a.m., to set the tone for the day, get organized or reinforce daily reminders that lead students towards academic, social-emotional or behavioral success.
9. Peace Circles: As needed basis to promote conflict resolution between students. Mediation type of process based on the tenets of openness & honesty, responsibility, perspective-taking, respect, solution-focused orientation, rehabilitation and righting wrongs.
*NOTE: All school counseling services offered are focused on addressing students' academic, career and social-emotional development by developing their skills, mindsets and behaviors.
